A newly built 4-bedroom home where the developers had not included solar despite the south-facing roof. The homeowners moved in and immediately wanted a complete renewable energy setup.
The Challenge
New build warranty considerations meant scaffolding had to be erected without contacting the property walls. The house was on an estate with a restrictive covenant requiring dark or all-black panels only.
Our Solution
Free-standing scaffolding erected to protect the NHBC warranty. All-black AIKO Neostar panels satisfy the estate covenant. A Zappi EV charger was installed in the garage with solar divert mode, and a 10kWh battery captures surplus generation for evening use.
The Result
The system generates 5,292 kWh annually from the ideal south-facing roof. With battery storage and EV charging from solar, the family saves approximately £1,480 per year. The estate management company approved the installation without issue.
