From Melksham to 1,500 installations — and counting
Lumos Energy was founded in 2015 by Matthew Butler — a qualified electrician who saw how many solar installations were being done badly. Rushed installs, substandard components, and zero aftercare left homeowners frustrated and underserved.
Matt's vision was simple: do it properly. That means bespoke system design for every home, using only premium components from leading manufacturers, and treating every customer like a neighbour — because in Wiltshire, they often are.
What started as a one-man operation in Broughton Gifford has grown into a team of skilled engineers serving 35+ locations across Wiltshire and the South West. But the values have never changed: quality, honesty, and care.

Leads every rooftop install. Specialises in AIKO panel installations, Sigenergy inverter commissioning, and complex roof geometries across heritage properties.
Ben Gingell
Installer & Electrician
Handles all AC electrical work, consumer unit upgrades, Sigenergy battery commissioning, and Tesla Powerwall + EV charger installations. OZEV approved installer.
